The AmiZilla Team has released an update report on the progress which has been made since the project to port Firefox to AmigaOS and its clones started. The Amiga OpenOffice.org team will update the community of their progress at the upcoming AmiGBG fair.
Both projects eagerly seek new developer blood to help them complete these enormous projects. Even if you currently don’t own an Amiga, you could still contribute in various ways, like for instance through 68k AmigaOS emulation or AROS development.
Anyway, I look forward to meeting the Amiga OpenOffice.org developers at the upcoming AmiGBG fair. ๐
I also just pre-ordered Papyrus Office for AmigaOS4!
Its good that they finally came public about their progress. I bet the donations will make a jump in the next few days.
This is not a troll, but seriously, why spend good talent on pet projects of pet projects?
People eventually gave up on Beta and moved to VHS. It’s time to let AmigaOS go.
Because many Amigans are using AmigaOS4 today and simply love it. ๐
What’s wrong with being offered an alternative? The OS4 project matures rapidly.
Because it only takes a handful of RAM? Because unlike Windows, it has True Multi-tasking, or unlike Linux, does not use some over weight GUI such as KDE, rather the GUI is small, fast, and responcive even on an old 50Mhz 030 such as I have atm.
I just enjoy playing with it because it reminds me of a time when I didn’t have to buy a new computer everytime the OS updated. A simpler time without spyware, pop-ups, and all this other crap that comes with Main stream modern OS’s.
I hope this OS (in one form or another) survives and developes into something much more modern and complex so that I may enjoy it for years to comes.
Hah. Saying something is not a troll is the classic defence of trolls everywhere. It’s a troll.
Why spend good talent on it? Because people have offered money for the bounty. Why offer money for it? Because they want to. That’s all the reason you need.
It’s an Amiga thing. You just wouldn’t understand.
