As seen on PCLinuxOnline: “KDE 3.0.1 Release – According to Dirk Mueller, KDE-3.0.1 is supposed to be released this coming Wednesday. He is asking all developers to double check all bug fixes and get them checked into the main branch.“

Does anybody know if Window Maker is still being maintained? Last news post is from three monts ago.
Oh yeah – forgot – YAY KDE!
perhaps check the -devel mailing lists?
It is still maintained, but from what I heard from the core team, WindowMaker almost has all the features (and bug fixes) it was intended to have. There is not much more they want to do on it. However, it is maintained, so if there are for example, problems compiling it on GCC 3.1 or other bugs, they will be fixed.
Btw, check LinuxJournal’s poll on desktop environment’s usage:
KDE 55%, Gnome 25%, WindowMaker 7%, Enlightenment 4% and possibly XFCE and Blackbox and the rest of the lot are following.

It’s funny that only two of them are desktop environments, the rest is windowmanagers, while XFCE isn’t even listed, and that’s a desktop environment
Now, which OS do you prefer? Windows, Netscape or Opera?
That’s really cool when you can say, “Windowmaker almost has all the features and bug fixes it was intended to have.” That means it must be perfect right?
I think personally, they should at least release a 1.0 version then, but that’s just me.
And just to keep on track with the topic of this OSNews article, what’s KDE?
KDE_3_0_1_RELEASE is tagged in CVS now. (and ARTS_1_0_1_RELEASE).
Time to get building… =)
Yeah, but does it compile with Intel’s C Compiler?
