Microsoft Corp. will put a more human face on its upcoming global multimillion dollar advertising program for its Windows Server System. The company, which is set to announce the new ad campaign at its Silicon Valley campus on Thursday afternoon, will spend tens of millions of dollars on this worldwide campaign, which will feature specific IT staffers from enterprise and mid-level firms that use the Windows Server System solutions.
Because microsoft pays us to do it, actually we are doing this AD because microsoft pays us to say nice things about them..
No wait.. thats bullshit
We do it because we love windows for real, actually microsoft isnt financing this publicity, we are doing it ourself to tell the world how much we love microsoft.. boy you’ve gotta try it out!

Yes I understand that the bottom-line of publicity is to just send the message “Yes, it just works, please consider using it”, but compared to linux/bsd/etc where someone close to you (be a manager/admin/programmer/etc) that uses it tells you “man it works, and it rules”.. I have to wonder what weights the most…
Yea.. well I hope they don’t cut mine off and wear it like a mask or something…
Because thats the feeling I got when I read that (-: You just can’t put “global multimillion dollar advertising program” and “human” in the same sentence without getting strange results.
Propaganda. Hope that answers anyone’s questions.
PS same goes for PR.
And if you would put the value of time spent by Linux users to market it, it would sum up to same or probably more than what MS spends on their campaigns.
But I guess, with MS you get what you expect, I guess you can’t be said the same after listening to a linux user and actually trying it.
The last time they tried to have a more human face… we got Bob.
Maybe Clippy isn’t human enough?
Ins’t propaganda the German word for information?
Wow, was a pun intended in your subject. It does take time to write virii to attack your percieved competition and other threats. Of course the time might be better spent working on Linux’s usability.
Ins’t propaganda the German word for information?
Nope, propaganda is German for propaganda. I would say this advertising is closer to Pravda ( ПРАВДА ) than propaganda. Atleast with proganda, generally there is atleast for every truck of hype there is a grain of truth some where.
Wow, are you bitter this morning.
I would do the commercial because I have deployed some Windows Server 2003 systems and its been fairly painless. Im also glad to say that with all my clients who deploy Windows we havent had one case of them getting infected with MyDoom.
