Doesn’t GNOME currently use schema’s in GCONF. If so how is WinFS’ approach different/similar to gnomes.
All this talk of WinFS features, how does it perform in HDD r/w? This is a major bottleneck in computing. Is adding a pile of layers on NTFS a good thing?
I don’t have time to read the article now, but being a non-C++/ex-VB/budding C# programmer, I’m looking forward to WinFS
Also, I thought I read somewhere that along with WinFS, there was gonna be a ‘C# 2.0’ with some of features that the language currently lacks (?)

I’m running WMP for Mac, but its saying it doesn’t know the audio codec. Same for VLC and MPLayer.
Same here for me… this is just one more example of Microsoft’s “superior” software.

Too bad none of this extensibility stuff is working in the PDC build. That’s the part I most want to play with. I could build a really cool CRM system for our office with WinFS.
Oh well, maybe later this summer the first beta will come out with it enabled.
