This press release announces SGI’s coming debuts at the IBC in Amsterdam. These include several new workstations and InfiniteStorage, which seems to be a new fileystem for transparently sharing media files across operating systems (Linux, IRIX, Windows NT, OSX).
CXFS has been around for more than three years now.So it is not all that new. Support for linux and AIX is the new part.
as long as the filesystem is ported to the OS…
are the sources open to this one ? a link to them would fit the news I think.
And Windows XP, it just wasn’t listed in the press release…
CXFS is not open source and yes it is ported to these
operating systems.
