A new source snapshot of RTMK was released today, the first in ten months. This new release includes a totally rewritten kernel and a PowerPC port as well. RMTK is still in early development stages, but the GUI for it is already underway. Crust is its name, developed by the same person who writes RTMK.
Anyone know if a PPC port means a port to Apple hardware, or only embedded stuff?
Currently the port only runs under the PSIM (http://sources.redhat.com/psim/)
simulator, but since both the PSIM simulator and Apple computers support
OpemFirmware there should really be no problem adjusting it to “real” hardware.
This will be done sometime in the future.
Ok, great. It’ld be nice to have it run on my iMac .
