Plexuscom, a designer and manufactures of broadband Internet access solutions and appliances, has reached an agreement with Genesi Sarl to produce and deliver limited quantities of the PegasosPPC computer for release at CeBIT 2003. Doesn’t mention a price anywhere…. anyone know? That looks like a pretty nice board, but it really looks to small to plug any PCI/APG cards into…

They are mostly refering to Amiga software compatibility. MorphOS at a fundamental level is built upon a Quark microkernel, this microkernel has as much in common with the original Amiga Exec kernel as for instance QNX Neutrino or Mach.
However on top of this kernel they have hosted a reimplementation of the orginal Exec kernel. Most of the AmigaOS 3.1 API has also been reimplemented (ABOX), also by using large parts of AROS source code.

Legally likely not in most countries. The EULA of MacOS prohibits its usage on non-Apple hardware
However technically it is already possible to use Mac-on-Linux in combination with Pegasos, AmigaOne and Terra Soft’s Linux solutions:

Don’t worry about the price. Buying one is next to impossiable. They are far behind on their orders. I have been trying to get one for the last 3 months and they are still trying to fill back orders.

Sadly until now the Pegasos has only been available in very low quantities due to various reasons.
However there has been a rather interesting review done with regard to the Pegasos/MorphOS already. The article is written in French, but includes some interesting and extensive benchmark comparisons.

We will be offering the next batch of boards separately to developers for $299 through the Phoenix Developer Consortium (www.phinixi.com). We see Phoenix in a quasi-sourceforge relationship with Genesi.

That the demand currently couldn’t satisfied has been just vbecause of
a supply shortfall regarding the northbridges (their competitors, who
have to use the same chips, had to face the same shortfall). But
regarding earlier public statements, Genesi expect to have the next
bigger quantity of NBs at their manufacturer about Feb 24 (all other
parts for the boards would be there already). Furthermore, in opposite
to their just redistributing competitors, Genesi are also
hardware-designers and manufacturers themselves, so that they’re
currently looking for using alternative NBs in case of further
shortfalls from MAI (who make the NBs and whose ATX reference design
board is distributed by Genesi’s competitors).

The above mentioned computer is just a special configuration. Of
course anyone can buy just the microATX-board itself and configure the
other parts just as he wishes.

The infrastructure to process requests and membership is not yet in place so we have to do it the old-fashioned labor intensive way.
