Version 0.71 of Visopsys has been unleashed into the wild. “The bulk of this release consists of general bug fixes, and improvements to hardware detection and device drivers, with particular focus on USB. New features include the ability to boot from a USB device (a new USB image is available for download) and the ability to power down the system.”
It will be an even more of a joy to use this version i hope. Thanks for all the times i have had the pleasure and privilege of using this OS.
I like its file system structure. Very logical and neat.
+ It is a true operating system, not just another “distro” or fork
+ The developer is sincere, he doesn’t claim it is “the best OS in the world”, he says it is intended mainly for hobbysts so he doesn’t make claims to be “good for all”, “desktop ready” or whatever.
The floppy image boots to a 16M ram virtual machine. If there was some way to add in nic support it would be a good alternative to things like G4U.
