I’m not interested in summing up all the boatloads of tablet news coming out of CES this year, so I’ll just point you towards Engadget, Gizmodo, or whatever’s your favourite gadget website. The gist? Everybody is unveiling tablets at CES.
“Your tablet has 8 inches? I don’t care, my tablet may have only 6 inches, but it’s thicker and has more functionality. It appeals to a larger crowd. You can take your 8” tablet and shove it in your niche!!”
I think the tablet boom is just starting. Now that we are creating good “finger” OS’s, I expect schools, hospitals, and many other organizations to make the switch.
I still remember my first tablet – it had a red boarder, gray screen, and 2 white knobs at the bottom. The only problem was the refresh rate of about 1 fph.

Are there any other then the one that Acer announced? If it comes down to it I’ll get theirs, but I’ve never been impressed by the build quality of the Acer machines I’ve used.

LOL…This reminds me how large mobile phones have become… I prefer a regular un-smart phone, it’s more simple and it takes less room im my pocket.
Regarding tablet PCs, I don’t like them, I also prefer a regular laptop computer. If it’s for space, I would choose a MacBook Air
You know what jumps at you when you go to engadget? Frigging this:

Suh-wheet!
kids stick fingers all over the screens – I think not.
Touch that screen again and its detention
But… The “you must own a BlackBerry phone to use it fully” part… No. Just no. Only Apple can sell something like this.
