    Obviously, a decent command line shell has been a weak spot for windows for a long time. I downloaded Monad, but haven’t played with it yet. I highly recommend http://console.sourceforge.net for a decent command line window though (true resizing, alpha transparency, ability to pick shell -including Monad).

    Yes thank you! I’ve been looking for a better console window for years. Too bad this one doesn’t support tabs, add that and it’ll be perfect.

    EDIT: never mind, the 2.0 version supports tabs.

    The article doesn’t even have the links right for getting the programs… LOL.

    Monad is no longer Monad but Windows Powershell and it can be had here for all the OS’s for those that want to see what it’s all about…

    I understand there’s already an OpenSource cross-platform shell written using the Mono .Net framework called Gonad — has all the features, soup-to-nuts, and it’s the balls. I understand that beneath the hulking command-line interface there’s a couple of security monitors called the “spheres of influence”, which you can click-on to automatically inject security code into your shaky (quivering?) scripts. I hear it’s a thing of beauty, if you’re into that sort of thing.

    I think my monad is broken, I’ve been trying it for years and haven’t had a child process spawn once.
