LXQt, the lightweight alternative to KDE, has released version 0.16.0. It’s not a major release with big new changes, but the changelog is still a fairly long list of improvements.

Well, the unfortunate situation with LXQt is that it has lost its momentum quite a while ago. The pace of the project is too slow to consistently provide the desktop a regular user expects. It’s merely playing catch-up a bit with these small patches here and there.
After being a longtime LXQt user, I had to switch to KDE recently, as they flat out refused to implement balance-handling correctly in their volume slider (whenever you would change the volume through the panel widget or shortcut, it would reset the balance setting). It’s one of the gazillion small details that a desktop needs to tend to that makes it hard for a small project like LXQt to stay relevant these days.
And also, the transition from LXDE that was never fully completed.
I don`t know why, but I don`t like it. I used a lot LXDE on old machines and never liked LXQt look. It`s just ugly for me, I don`t know why.
