Many people rely on RISC OS and its software to look after their email and browse their favourite websites. But could you trust RISC OS to make sure you wake up to a warm shower every morning? Electronic engineer Dave Higton describes his RISC OS powered central heating system.
Bull , any news for Risc OS hardware ???
Been thinking about something like this for a long time. Would be nice to be able to control the heat to each room in the house. Perhaps access temperature predictions over the internet for the next day to anticipate heating/cooling requirements. Should have used a PC though like an old laptop.
My Pentium 4 already heats my house…
And if you switch to a water-cooling system, it will heat your water as well, right?

Hmm.. I think you need to use an AMD CPU for that. :p
Our central heating is really useless. Its got two times that when they come on and heats the hot water as well as a flip switch to advance to the next time, or ON/OFF. The radiators come on as well as heating the hot tap water at the same time even if there is plenty of hot water in the tank already. I’ve been wanting to rewiring the radiator pump with a manual override so we can turn the radiators on and use the excess hotwater in the talk thats already there. However, my girlfriend won’t let me and she’s already had some cast iron raditors fitted for longer heat retention. My way would be better.
At least with these raditors you can sit on them to warm up quicky.. lol.
