Yesterday the Moblin Steering Committee announced three developments:
Release of Moblin v2.0 for Atom-based netbooks, a preview of the Moblin Garage and Moblin Application Installer, and a community preview release of Moblin v2.1 for Atom-based netbooks and nettops for early development.
I read dreadful comments on their official page, about the quality of this “””stable””” release… Can any OSNews reader provide some feedback? Is it true that there are nearly no differences (improvements) in this stable release, comparing with the beta?
I have been wanting to run this on my Wind U100 as I still find Ubuntu NBR to be a bit “heavy”. In beta, moblin failed to see my wifi. In this new “stable” release….the wifi is seen but won’t connect to my wifi. At first I thought it might be due to wpa but after testing it with my wifi unprotected, I still had the same issue.
maybe an update or 2.1 will fix these annoying issues. Until then, is UNBR as been the best no hassle install for my U100
