The Bordeaux Technology Group released Bordeaux 1.8 for FreeBSD. “Bordeaux 1.8 has had many changes on the back end, our build process has been totally rewritten, packaging has been totally rewritten. This release adds Microsoft Office 97, Adobe Photoshop 6 & 7 and Image Ready 3.0 and 7.0 support. Our winetricks script has been synced to the latest official release, Steam should now install and run once again, There has also been many small bug fixes and tweaks. This complete rewrite gives Bordeaux a much more clean and portable codebase, making new improvements much easier to provide. We already have some exciting things in the works for the next release.” Bordeaux 1.8 now runs on Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac.
Yay! It supports ten years old software! You’re much better of with a VM.
With a vm you need a MS operating system with this you don’t. I think that alone makes this project, wine and crossover worth pursuing.
Oh and isn’t Win 7 $199 and this is $20.

Office 2003, 2007 and Adobe CS CS2 are hardly 10 years old.. Steam is brand new and current
Bordeaux will also run anything that Wine runs, we have a cellar manager e.g bottle manager so you can install unsupported software into its own prefix or a existing prefix if you wish to do that.
Cheers,
Tom
Yet another article not mentioning what the program does.
sigh
Sure they do:
“Bordeaux 1.8 now runs on Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac.”
It runs. 😛

Quite so, I then spent a couple of minutes browsing their site and came away none the wiser.
They are not alone. Just a simple plain language outline of what the software does – would really make sense.
It might also help generate revenue.
