I've got quite used to the transparent menu bar, the last time I had to use a Tiger machine, I felt like I'd just been punched in the face by the menu bar, it's so overbearing!

Incompatibility with patterned backgrounds has finally been fixed in 10.5.2

But, I asbsolutely agree with the Dock. There's no defending the insane double shadows, bizzarre perspective concept, odd reflection and everything else. The Dock isn't even properly mentioned in the new Leopard HIG; they can't even post-justify it.

I love the Leopard Menubar, still have it set that way (since the 10.5.2 update), but totally understand if some people didn't like it. I was kind of disappointed they made the menus less transparent too. Maybe a slider for the menubar and another for the menu would be a good idea...

But the dock, that 3D thing. What were Apple thinking? The guys at work however love it... Anyway, I got mine looking 2D again and love it... The new 2D look is brilliant (if you put your dock on one of the edge you'll see what I am talking about if you haven't seen it)...

I modded my dock to "True Dock" ( http://www.leoparddocks.com/ ) It looks like the Leopard 2D dock but flattened to 3D look. It looks fantastic.
I think the fact we can skin the dock now (I don't think it was possible before, right?) justifies the Leopard dock in itself.
